The Aggeliki Chatzimichali Museum of Folk Art and Tradition has been operating since 1980 and is housed in the old mansion of the first Greek folklorist Aggeliki Chatzimichali (1895-1965) in Plaka. The Museum collections include folk art, wood carving, metalwork, pottery, traditional costumes, embroidery, and carpet looms. The Aggeliki Chatzimichali Museum of Folk Art and Tradition aims to preserve, conserve, and promote folk art objects, their interpretation, and their connection with today’s modern world.
