Toddlers’ Library of Athens

βρεφική νηπιακή βιβλιοθήκη

The Toddlers’ Library of the Municipality of Athens is located in the Park for the Child and Culture and is the first Library in Greece designed exclusively for toddlers. It belongs to the City of Athens Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA) and operates with the cooperation of the interdisciplinary non-profit organization “DIAVAZONTAS MEGALONO”.

The Library is divided into two sections. The first section is addressed to very young children (from a few days to 3 years old) and their families. It has everything they need for a comfortable stay of the children and the people accompanying them: a device for warming the feeding bottle, special chairs for feeding babies, armchairs for mothers who wish to breastfeed. The second section is for older children (3 to 6 years old) and includes a small amphitheatre where events are held.

The Library’s collection includes Greek and foreign-language children’s books, while selected wooden toys are also available.

An online catalogue (OPAC) is available to users, which one may consult by clicking here. The Library is a lending library offering its services free of charge. Members can be residents of the Attica region. The membership application is completed by the child’s parent or guardian, who must provide a public document with their identity details and a public utility bill showing their home address.

The library is accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
