The building first opened in 1842, initially housing the Elpis Municipal Hospital.
Initially designed by the German architect F. Schaubert, the building has housed the Cultural Centre since 1971. Today it hosts, amongst others, all the central services of OPANDA.
The building also houses the “Antonis Tritsis” amphitheatre, hosting conferences, meetings, book presentations and other cultural events.
