48| Dimitris Mouzenidis (1911-1944)

A machinist originally from Erzigian in Pontus, Mouzenidis lived in New Cosmos at 10 Kalkou Street. He was an active member of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), serving on the City Committee of Piraeus and leading the KKE in the machinist workshops of the area. On March 23, 1944, he was arrested by Greek gendarmes from the Special Security at the electric train station in Piraeus. He was executed with a gunshot to the neck, and his body was discarded in the garden of Zappeion (information from Menelaos Charalampidis).
