February 22 – March 24, 2024
Stergios Stamos’ Gordian Knots current exhibition at the City of Athens Art Gallery runs until March 24th. This remarkable exhibition is a result of a great collaboration between the Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa – G.I. Katsigras Museum and the City of Athens Art Gallery. The exhibition, curated by Giannis Bolis, showcases some of the artist’s best work from the past few years, and visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to see works that are part of two major thematic sections.
In the first section, the author explores the topic of immigration and the plight of thousands of people searching for a better life, only to end up trapped in camps and facing xenophobia, racism, and rejection.
In the second section, the artist focuses on Greece during the economic crisis and explores the country’s search for new forms of solidarity, unity, and coexistence amid austerity measures and political turmoil.
Opening hours: Tuesday – Saturday : 11:00 – 19:00, Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00.
The exhibition will remain closed on Mondays
