Athens, are you ready? The untamed Meute – the eleven-piece band from Hamburg, Germany, known for their characteristic red jackets – who love breaking the rules and pushing boundaries, are coming on Sunday, May 26th, as part of the kickoff for this year’s Athens Jazz 2024, at the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens.
Gazarte – as always – joins the biggest Athenian Jazz festival, and this year presents the most explosive premiere, in collaboration with their beloved and enthusiastic neighbors.
The bass reverberates, confetti sparkles in the air, and the red uniforms make their appearance in the strobe lights! A wave of exhilarating techno and expressive brass music will sweep us away, igniting a unique night of electronic frenzy.
The techno orchestra – MEUTE – brings revolution to techno music and redefines the concept of orchestral brass, using only acoustic instruments.
On May 26th, they invite us all to enjoy a unique performance that will stay with us for a long time!

This unique night will kick off with “To Pragma,” the highly unique project of pianist Kostis Christodoulou, to immerse us in the spirit with original music that, while based on the tradition of swing and blues (Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington), extends to modal sounds (Sun Ra and John Coltrane), composing a landscape of contemplation. The first day of the 23rd Athens Jazz – cannot end otherwise than with an explosive closing party at the Roof Stage of Gazarte with many distinguished DJs, soon to be announced!
