Since 2008, the International Body Music Festival has showcased traditional and contemporary Body Music ensembles that incorporate a wide range of artistic expressions, with the body itself as the sole musical instrument. Body music – voice, clapping, body percussion – is the oldest form of music on our planet and more relevant today than ever. At the crossroads of sound and movement, its central concept was born: music you see, dance you hear.
The non-profit cultural organization PLAYGROUND for the arts, in collaboration with the founder and artistic director of the IBMF, Keith Terry, curates a diverse program with a strong social impact, focusing on interculturality, accessibility, global traditions, and high-level artistic productions.
