OPANDA presents the solo exhibition “Ever Given” by Effi Chaliouri at the Municipal Gallery of Athens, from 21 November 2024 to 12 January 2025.
In this new exhibition by Effi Chaliouri, images of ports and quarries coexist harmoniously, inviting the viewer to unravel the thread that connects them. In both the quarries and the ports, the human absence is emphatically marked. Within the industrial scale of these spaces, the uninhabited photographs resemble an untouched landscape that captivates with its contrasts. The two themes ultimately converge in a single image, projected alone and enlarged in a dark room: a still image that, however, brims with life and human presence. As with all the images in the exhibition, the interpretation remains open.
