The restored building will house the namesake Academy of Lyric Art.

Thirty-eight days, 129 neighbourhoods, 10 Christmas villages, 120+ events for the whole family, 30+ music performances, Omonia Christmas Market, a two-day event for children at the Kypseli Municipal Market, parties around the city and many more.

It is the third award in line after the two recent exceptional European distinctions presented to the city (Best Cultural Destination in Europe and Best Convention & Visitors Bureau in Europe), proving the tourism dynamics of Athens in recent years.

This new cooperation aims to enhance further the collective effort of the Greek Government, the Ministry of Tourism and the City of Athens to promote a new and sustainable tourism development model, based on which Athens will become an attractive destination all year round.

After a joint jury vote, the winner was the play "The Nightwatchman", a work on friendship written by Kostas Lakis and directed by Lili Sakka (theatrical workshop of Preveza).
