It is housed in an autonomous building next to the Athens Municipality Arts Center at Parko Eleftherias. The central core of its collections comes from items collected by Zacharias Makatounis, a Cretan, and his son Antonios, who donated everything to the Municipality of Athens to create a museum. The museum&#8217;s collections include personal items of the politician, documents related to historical events, archives of documents and photographs.
