{"id":15607,"date":"2023-05-03T16:41:24","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T13:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cultureisathens.gr\/?p=15607"},"modified":"2023-05-04T10:09:09","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T07:09:09","slug":"athens-poetry-walk-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cultureisathens.gr\/en\/athens-poetry-walk-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Athens Poetry Walk"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Athens Culture Net of the Municipality of Athens, in the framework of the Athens City Festival*, presents a poetic walk in Athens in collaboration with Homo Ludens &#8211; Urban Dramaturgy Explorations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">&#8220;Athens Poetry Walk&#8221; is a free digital application linking poetic landmarks, which includes an interactive map, useful information, audio documents and gamification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Specifically, the application includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:16px\"><li>26 points of poetic interest** &#8211; landmarks in central locations in Athens with busts, statues, poets&#8217; homes and literary cafes, rich informational material, and readings of selected representative poems as well as rare audio documents curated by Dimitra Christodoulou.<\/li><li>A game of knowledge and observation in a poetic walk that links 15 busts and statues of poets.<\/li><li>A tribute to poetic discourse by Athens 9.84 in collaboration with the&nbsp; Athens Culture Net of the Municipality of Athens, where prominent Greek poets, their loved ones and representatives of the new poetic generation read famous poems.<\/li><li>Video recitations of Greek Classics in Ancient Greek, a collaboration between the Athens Culture Net and Homo Ludens and the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University in Washington, DC.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">The application is accessible from smart phones and other digital devices by visiting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/poetry.homoludens.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/poetry.homoludens.org\/&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;with extremely low mobile data usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">When opening the app, the user can browse the digital map, which includes 26 map pins in three different colors, by tapping on each pin and reviewing the corresponding information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The blue color corresponds to historical landmarks of poetic interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The green color corresponds to current events related to poetry (updated accordingly).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The red color corresponds to landmarks with busts and statues of poets where the user can listen to exemplary recitations and play the game by clicking on the gamification symbol. By answering the questions correctly, he\/she can climb to the top of the leader board and win glory and invitations for the Athens City Festival events***!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">*Athens City Festival is the big festival of the city, organized by the Municipality of Athens, for residents and visitors of all ages. From the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;to the 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of May, Athens&#8217; neighborhoods will be buzzing with more than 200 special events. Special tours and gastronomy nights will reintroduce us to museums and cultural institutions, sports activities will energize the parks, concerts, DJ sets and events will fill with music the city&#8217;s arcades and streets.
