A journalist from Gonia, Rethymno, Litinas served as a reserve second lieutenant on the Greco-Italian front and, starting in 1941, became a fighter for the National Democratic Greek League (EDES). He organized the publication and distribution of illegal resistance press and established combat groups and recruitment networks in both the mountains and the city.<\/span><\/p>\n He was arrested on April 7, 1944, at the offices of the Association of Reserve Officers and endured torture in the grim conditions of Merlin Street. He was executed on September 8, 1944, in the Haidari forest.
