The composer’s melodic genius elevates the story from Beaumarchais’ popular Figaro Trilogy.

The beautiful Rosina lives under the strict supervision of her guardian, Don Bartolo, who plans to marry her once she comes of age. However, the young woman falls in love with Count Almaviva, who, disguised as the poor student Lindoro, seeks to win her heart with the help of the clever barber Figaro. Figaro’s inventive schemes break all records in his efforts to get the Count into Bartolo’s house to see his beloved. Things become complicated as passions intensify and the desires of the main characters clash, but in the end, love triumphs, just as Rossini’s delightful music does.

Sharp-witted and subversive, the great Vassilis Papavasiliou directs, in collaboration with Nikoleta Filosoglou.

Musical Direction: Giorgos Ziavras

Direction: Vassilis Papavasiliou, Nikoleta Filosoglou

Set / Costumes / Dramaturgy: Angelos Mendis

Lighting Design: Eliza Alexandropoulou

Choreography: Sofia Paschou

Choral Teaching: Stavros Beris

Musical Preparation: Spyros Souladakis

Musical Collaborator: Dimitris Christou

Assistant Lighting Design: Lampros Papoulias

Cast:

Figaro: Giorgos Iatrou / Haris Andrianos

Count Almaviva: Manuel Amati / Vassilis Kavayias

Rosina: Artemis Bogri / Martha Sotiriou

Bartolo: Marios Sarantidis

Basilio: Christoforos Stamboglis

Berta: Mina Polychronou

Fiorello: Nikos Masourakis

Officer: Nikos Masourakis Athens Municipal Symphony Orchestra & Choir

[643
