An exciting new art installation by Adrian Pazzi titled “We Apologise” will be on display at Victoria Square from October 20 to November 12, 2021. The project is the outcome of several months of research and collaboration with old and new residents of the Victoria neighbourhood following an invitation to Counterpoints Arts and the Victoria Square Project organisations. The installation has been curated by Almir Koldzic, director of Counterpoints Arts, and Niobe Zarabouka-Hatzimanou, director of the Victoria Square Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inauguration of the art installation will be held on October 20, 2021, at Victoria Square at 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Victoria Square is a highly debated square in Greece, and it is known for representing the migration and refugee issue. The Square serves as a meeting point for all the diverse communities that make up Victoria’s broader neighbourhood. The installation “We Apologize” doesn’t take a particular stance on the issue. Instead, it challenges us to rethink our attitudes towards one another and find ways to coexist while recognizing the needs of everyone who lives in the area. The installation is intended for everyone, regardless of their status or position. It seeks to stimulate thought and discussion rather than provide a conclusion, in line with Adrian Pazzi’s usual approach in his works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The installation comes with a parallel public program that includes educational projects suitable for all ages, discussions on the project’s topics, guided tours, and other interactive activities. The details of these activities will be announced soon. The public program is carried out with the collaboration and support of the Goethe Institute in Athens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We Apologize” is part of the European Across Borders program, with the support of the Athens Culture Net of the City of Athens. It is part of the many years of action of the VSP in the broader area of Victoria and the research curatorial program “Who is the modern Athenian?”. The major donor of the Victoria Square Project and the curatorial research program is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). The VSP program is implemented in collaboration with Kulturstiftung Allianz<\/p>\n\n\n\n
