In the context of this open dialogue, Lymperatos&#8217; work is inspired by metopes and ancient Greek tombs, the mosaics of the&nbsp;&nbsp;<em><strong>Monastery<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;of Christ at&nbsp;<em><strong>Chora<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;in Constantinople, medieval manuscripts and post-Byzantine frescoes. At the heart of Lymperatos&#8217; artistic practice is an unshakeable belief in the power of the icon, its pedagogical value, and the ability to be reconstituted from its fragments. Through processes of reconstruction and reassembly, adopting various media and techniques, Lyberatos creates images that refer to the diversity of meaning that guides the act of painting.
