The Arts Centre at Parko Eleftherias is a landmark as it is part of a four-building complex of late 19th-century military architecture, which the Greek Military Police (EAT – ESA) used as torture sites during the dictatorship (1967-1974).
Today, the place has been transformed into a historical memory and culture venue, promoting freedom of speech and artistic expression.
The Arts Centre is a modern exhibition space hosting art exhibitions (painting, sculpture, photography, installations, performances) that showcase contemporary trends in art and attract the interest of the art-loving public. Moreover, its green, spacious courtyard hosts various cultural events, music concerts, theatrical performances, book presentations, etc.
