On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, the City of Athens is honouring the day with a symbolic illumination of the City Hall and a double outdoor photo exhibition – tribute to the Greek Jewish communities.
"Lessness" is a dialogue between a visual exhibition and a performance, an introduction to Samuel Beckett's text "Lessness" and the artwork of Ira Spagandorou, an initiation into a world without verbs, where nouns and adjectives are repeated non-stop, a single fragment impression.
The title of Vassilis Skylakos' retrospective exhibition indicates, on the one hand, the intensely manual character of his work. On the other, it refers to his homonymous antique shop and his solo exhibition "The Hand. Workshop – Paliatzidiko", held at Desmos Art Gallery in 1992.
This is not just another exhibition about the Greek light, sea and landscape. Nonetheless, it is inspired by their beauty but in ways as unique as the participant creators.
