17,000 spectators, 43 days, 70+ events, 17 neighborhoods in all Municipal Communities
This summer, the whole City of Athens, in the center and the neighborhoods, turned into a big stage of art and culture, with concerts, tributes, theater and music performances, hosted in squares, open spaces, groves and theaters of the city, with free admission for young and old. Through the program of the City of Athens “All Athens is a Stage”*, produced by the City of Athens Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA), more than 17,000 spectators watched, from June 18 to July 31, 2022, a total of 73 events in 17 neighborhoods and in the seven Municipal Communities.
The Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, said about the end of the program: “We envisioned making the whole City of Athens a stage! We imagined notes, melodies, and theater shows flooding groves, squares, and sidewalks offering culture freely for all, supporting the same time, artists and the cultural community. And we achieved all this together with the Athenian public who embraced all the events and challenged us to make this program an institution!”
