The opera for children and young adults “Prince Ivan and the Bird of Fire” by composer and director ThodorisAbazis, which was presented with great success by the Alternative Stage of the National Opera House in 2017-2018, is hosted in Olympia Theatre for a few performances.
When Tsar Vitslav discovers that his precious golden apples are becoming scarce, he instructs his three children, Dimitri, Vasily and Ivan, to catch the thief. In return, he offers them his kingdom. The youngest, Ivan, the most spoiled and arrogant, outwits his brothers and sets on an exciting and challenging journey to the Black Forest of the Wizard King Koschei… And the adventure begins! With a magic wardrobe as their vehicle, the children travel to lush forests, palaces and otherworldly places where anything can happen. Bright colours, magic tricks and on-stage transformations make for an unforgettable musical theatre experience.
