Cigarettes After Sex are based in Brooklyn, New York. An ambient pop collective formed in 2008, led by singer-songwriter Greg Gonzalez. With influences from Mazzy Star, Cocteau Twins, and Red House Painters, their music features dream pop, ambient, and slowcore elements. The dynamic 2012 release of their first EP “I.”, which was enthusiastically welcomed, was one of the biggest surprises of that year, with the well-known singles “Affection” and “K.” standing out. Creators of some of the most beautiful songs we’ve ever heard, including the famous “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby,” Cigarettes After Sex have managed to get millions of views on YouTube for every song they upload. Their original productions, Greg Gonzalez’s particularly mesmerizing vocals and their undeniable ability to create atmospheres that capture the senses prove how special a band they are.
