Restoration of the “piano” steps in Pagrati

παγκράτι

It was eight years ago when for the first time, the Atenistas, with their voluntary action, painted the steps of a small park in Pagrati, near the Goulandris Museum, to look like a piano.

However, the colours have faded out over the years, and other additional damage occurred. So, the Attiko Conservatory invited them to restore it. The Municipality of Athens did the preliminary clean-up work, and Athens Partnership had a coordinating role.

“We know the recipe to give life and brighten certain corners of Athens: cooperation and participation, as was the case with the piano steps in Pagrati. The whole initiative shows that small things become big when done together,” stated the Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis.
